Hey guys. I found a picture of this ATN night vision sight for an auction I will be attending this weekend. Can anyone identify this model by chance? Also, can night vision sights be used during the day as a regular sight? or are they night vision only? Theres also a PVS-2 night vision sight.


There's also a "Colt Match Target" AR, with an extra upper with bull barrel and a bushy AR. Let's see if I can get a steal. At some of these auctions, ya never know.

90% sure that's a ATN Aries 350. Gen 1 2.5 power scope. I've got
one, works OK, retails for under $400.

Yes, you can use it in daylight--that front cover has a pinhole in it
that allows it's use in bright light---but it's just a so-so day scope.

When you say so-so, what could you compare it to? I'm just looking for mainly a decent day scope for my AR without paying full price for an eotech or aimpoint. I figure I could get this thing cheap since its at auction and the nightvision would be a bonus.

Gen 1 night vision isn't very good,that's why you can get it pretty cheap.
If you want to get night vision,save your money and get a Gen 3 unit.

It's like comparing a $40 Tasco scope to a Nightforce scope.

As far as an Aimpoint or Eotech,if you can't afford a new one,buy used,you can find them for some pretty good deals.

So-so as in "it's like looking through lime jello". I would NOT use it
primarily as a day scope. Lot's of them around for not too many bucks.

Take a look at the Millett DMS-1. I've got a Weaver V-3 on one
lightweight AR--not "tactical" but it works just fine.

So the auction is over. I had no chance. These guys bid this thing up to $450. I started to laugh because you can get them a lot cheaper then that new. They AR's didn't do bad though. They both went between 600 and 700. If I didn't just buy a new one a week ago I would have grabbed the Colt.

Gen 1 is a very bad NV.. It`s better to use none than to use gen 1.. though I heard Armasight has a new Spark monocular with CORE system(Ceramic Optical Ruggidized Engine) which belongs to gen 1 and the price is of gen 1 but the quality of gen 2. It`s like a new technology in NV. Check out here:

You are right, but we here are discussing nv SCOPE!! if you don't mean monocular + AIM, of course
