Personally not a fan of eotech. Too much delicate electronics to go wrong. I don't think they are very rugged. The controls are very fidly and very slow to get set for ambient light. They suck in low light conditions as the bright reticle washes out what your looking at. In bright conditions it can be hard to pick up against certain backgrounds.

Just my personal opinion.

I love EOTechs and have had them on every patrol rifle I've owned. I prefer the D1 (single red dot) reticle but I currently have the A65 (red dot with 65 MOA ring) on my rifle. I'm accurate with the EOTech out to 150 yards. If I need to shoot further I just add my Primary Arms 6x magnifier. Love that setup.

I have borrowed a friend's Leupold Firedot 1.5-4x and was accurate and enjoyed shooting through it. I also love a good Trijicon ACOG 3x as well.

I can confidently recommend any of the above I mentioned. It's just how much you want to spend. Here are my prices on the recommended optics:

EOTech 512.A65 $419
Leupold Firedot $479
Trijicon ACOG $949

I also have an LWRC M6A2 SPR imo it would be wasting the weapons inherent accuracy using EoTech A65 or a low power 1-4x scope or a 4X ACOG. I would look at Nikon's offerings in their Prostaff or Monarch line of scopes in the 3-9X or higher magnification range. I have a Vortex Viper PST FFP 4-16X50 ($800) on my LWRC.

Does anyone know where I could find the tether wire that's used on an EOtech? The wire the tethers the battery door to the optic itself. Any ideas??
