advice on shooting in built up areas

I was wanting to take care of the over population of rabbits at our horse grazing. It is a Lifestyle block area and I am wanting some advice on shooting around this smaller ssuberban area rather than a true rural area.
The ground is dead flat, and Im using a basic .22 with scope and silencer. the soil is soft peat.

I have basic gun handling skills
I have been through all the goverment training to get my licence but did not realy get great information on this type if shooting.
Im planning on using slow velocity amo.
I do not want to buy a smaller gun

(around six acre lifestyle properties).

Is it legal to shoot there?
