.22 target practice scope

got a .22LR that needs a damn scope! i go to the range but past 50 yds i cant see where im hitting without binos. and i have to look up every other second. Am looking for a scope 3-9x40mm. what brands should i get?

For an inexpensive scope I'm using a Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32 on my .22, it was around $40 at Dick's. Pretty good for what I'm using it for.

Just yesterday I upgraded two of my .22LR rifles with Bushnell scopes.
Friday the Step-son, Grandson, and I went to the range. The Step son has a Ruger 10/22 he put one of these ($29.95) Bushnell's on. Duplex cross hairs.

But what was impressive was the big bright picture it gives you.
They are both 4X. The new one I got at Wal Mart, because I was there getting ammo. (Winchester Bulk, 555 rounds of hollow point. $19.95)
The new scope with mounts was $29.95.
I also got some 1" mounts for my older 4X from my 30-06.
I replaced two of those "typical" .22 rifle scopes with these. My old one from my 30-06 went on with new mounts (Bushnell 4X, fine cross hairs).
For my aging eyes, I really like these duplex cross hairs. And the big picture drops right in when the cheek meets the stock.
Might be just the ticket?

I put a 3X9 on my 30-06 and I'm trying it out. So far, so good. Sighted it in, then fine tuned it as I steped out to the furthest steel targets. Bangs the gong at 600 yards. :)
But I am a bit rusty. It's been 18 years since I fired the 06.

But we all had the most fun with the .22's

Here is a link.
And another to the Bushnell 4X

But whatever you decide, they are out there. Have fun!

What kind of rifle is it going on?

What is your budget?

You can go from $20 junk to $400 leupold rimfire scopes or even more

I bought this and for my purpose (plinking), it works really well.

what are you looking to spend on a scope? you can get cheap, but still
usable, scopes for $30

I've had a few Tasco's that worked just fine on the 22's and centerfire rifles,
put a $70 Bushnell 4-12x44 on my 17HMR and never had a problem with it.
had a Simmons on my 30-30 and one on a 270, both worked fine too

image quality on all the above was good, not as nice as some more expensive
scopes, but could definitley see what I was shooting and held zero without an issue

I have two of the Simmons 3X9X32 Scopes on my 10/22's that are excellent scopes for the money.

A while back I also put a Walmart CenterPoint .22 Rimfire 3X9X32 on my old Remington .22 bolt action that has also proved to be an excellent scope. I really like the mildot reticle it uses. It was around $55 plus I spent an additional $20 and bought some good B-square rings.

You won't have any trouble seeing the .22 bullet holes at 50 yards on 9-power with either of the two scopes I mentioned.

Snake is that a 510 or a 511?

If it's a 511 I'll give you $200 for it plus shipping.

Tango, it's a 1942 Rem. 512. My dad bought it new, but gave it to me when I was 10 y.o. as my first firearm. Obviously, it's priceless to me for sentimental reasons, so I wouldn't sell it for any price. It is a great shooter though.

When I'm gone, it'll be passed down in my estate to my children. I hope they enjoy it as much as I have.
