I've had my xds for a while now, and don't regret it at all. The mag extension makes it the size of a 1911 though. I have and use the extension, but only at the range. I am however a big fan of the pinky extension that Pearce makes

Midway says May before another shipment and Springfield says 6-8 weeks.

Good luck finding any.

Get the Pearce pinky extension. They are about $7-$9 each. I have the 7 round mag but I only use it at the range, like others have said above. After I put the pinky extensions on my mags it made such a big difference that I am surprised that Springfield doesn't ship them in the kit as an option to swap out like they do the back straps.

Yeah, as a first time gun owner I was confused on the difference between a clip and a magazine:

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a clip as “a device to hold cartridges for charging the magazines of some rifles” and ”also : a magazine from which ammunition is fed into the chamber of a firearm.”

That cleared it right up for me.
