Default XDM Sights

I am looking at putting a set of Tru Glo fiber optic sights on my XDM 9, but only see a listing for the XD 9. Does anyone know if the dovetail is the same? I suspect so, but wanted to make sure first. Thanks in advance.

I don't know but I do know the sights on XDs require a gunsmith to install them. They are so tight you can't budge them with a hammer and punch. I'd guess XDm's are the same way...

My gunsmith won't touch them. He just says send them to Springfield. Luckily, Springfield is in my hometown about 25 miles away.

I haven't changed them out yet however. I need to get around to doing that.

To remove the sights on an XD you have to use a sight removal tool there about 75 bucks i picked mine up at cabelas about a year ago it was worth it not to have to send it off i live in Washington so it would have been weeks before i got it back it was pretty easy to do and Ive done it several times since you can find a video on how to do it the best one on you tube is by NUTTINFANCY or TNP look it up you'll be well informed

I apologize for this being my first post but just went through this process myself.

I installed a set of TruGlo TFO sights on my XDM 3.8 40 last weekend. From everything I have seen the XD and XDM all use the same dovetail size regardless of caliber. I do agree that a sight removal tool is much easier but a good brass punch removed my factory sights and set the new ones without any marring to the finish on pistol, or either sets of sights.

Pistolgear sells the TFO sights for $89 shipped. I love them.

I have a sight removal tool and was unable to remove either the back or front sight. The guys at Springfield said put the slide in vice and hammer out hard with a brass punch. I found using a 16# hand sledge to give me better control on pounding it out. used my sight tool to install the new dawson sight I bought
