Default XDm Compact

So there's a big full page ad in my latest American Rifleman for compact XDm. It doesn't appear to be the the 3.8, but can't find any info on SA's site. Anybody got any info on this?

I picked one up in trade last week. The XDM with a 3.8inch barrels are out. Plan on trying it out later this week.

Hmmm, that looked shorter than a 3.8 in the ad. Thought it might have been something new.

I think it is something new. Saw something similar to this on another forum last week. From what I read this is the next promotion after the current 3 mags and 1 holder they are doing now. Any other info just give SA a call.

Yeah, the 3.8 has been out a while, but this is a new line.

I'm not sure of the size yet. We'll have to wait and see, but it won't be long.

It's a 3.8" with the same flexibility as the XD Compacts and Sub-Compacts.

It's only available in 9mm right now. It comes with a short 13 round magazine and a 19 round hi-cap with the sleeve on it for seamless grip extension.

I'm hoping that the hi-cap mag is the same mag that comes with the full-sized XDM and just has a sleeve on it. If that's so, then I can use all the mags from my XDM-40 4.5" on the Compact 40 (when it comes out).

Here's the specs:

XDM-9 Compact

Does anyone know if this one use the same 13-round mags as the regular sub-compact XD or are they different mags?

Anyone own one and shot it? I was wondering about the quality of the high capacity magazine (the extension part) and how it feels on the grip. And how it shoots with the 13 round short grip.

Default XDm S&W40 3.8"

One of my Christmas gifts this December was a brand new XDm S&W
40 with a 3.8" barrel. It also came with a Christmas Deal, where I got
3 extra mags ( 16 rounds each) -- Shoots great, I now use it as my
daily carry, and keep my XD45 acp as my back up! --It has the grip
extensions - I use the widest due to the size of my big paws. Grip
is great and there is a extension you can get from Pistol gear for the
mags if you wish to go to 20 round per mag ( pricey though)
