Carry it for work everyday. I have the 3.8" barrel. Mine is not the compact model. It shoots great, disassembles easily, and I like the 19+1 capacity. I'm more of a revolver guy but I love my xdm and can shoot it great

Just picked up the 5.25" model. Ran 100 rounds through it yesterday and I am in love. Smooth shooter and having the adjustable sight with the front fiber optic is a bonus. Might consider getting a PRP drop in trigger kit for it after Christmas.

I have the XDM in 9mm - 4.5" I bought it as a trainer - 9mm ammo is cheaper than .40 or .45

Action: Gun has been flawless and I don't clean often.

Accuracy: Combat only for the first 500 rds. Now she shoots just fine. Did the barrel need to be shot smooth or did it take me 500 rds to get used to it.

If I had to buy today: I would go w 5.25" or the performance model of the M&P.

Nope. I have the full size xdm 3.8, which has the full size grip and two full size magazines. Then there's the xdm 3.8 compact which has the shortened grip and comes with one compact magazine and one full size magazine. Compact refers to the frame size, not the barrel.

Just paid for 5.25 competition at Bass Pro w/today's $75 discount and additional 10% off w/their new credit card. Have to wait till Wed. to pick up. Also got 500 rounds and can't wait to do NRA Pro-Marksman and Marksman qualifications soon. I'm so happy!

yes I have the 5.25 in 9mm. I like it quite a bit...The gun has a 19 round magazine capacity so it makes a wonderful nightstand gun too!
