Springfield XDM-45 4.5" Black
Price: $579.99

Unless you bought your XD for $280.00 - $380.00
Good point. I got my XDM for $679. I only see a $100 difference. Ill spend that for a better barrel and better ergonomics.

I think prices have varied a bit, and it seems they vary geographically somewhat. Back in 2009 when i picked up my XD45 (OD, 5"), it was about $570. Last year a buddy picked up an XD9 (black, 4") for not much over $400, maybe $425; at that time my buddy indicated that the XDm9 was over $100 more expensive. What is the difference now, couldn't tell you. I can say that i've been very satisfied with my XD45, and that i think either model, XD or XDm, would be a good gun.

I know I am jumping in here a little late but I own both guns, the XD40 and XDm40. The differences are a better barrel, trigger, grip surface, adjustable grips, higher capacity, in the XDm. The XD is more concealable due to its shorter length. Both are excellent guns, it just depends what you want to use it for. I have only shot my XD once since I got the XDm, I would like to sell it to get a subcompact model. The price difference for me was less than $100.

For concealment get an XD, for competition get an XDm. Or just whichever feels better in your hand.

I own a xd sc .40 now and have and xdm compact .40 coming next week. I will be able to see the differences I am sure. I love my current xd and imagine I will love the new one just as much if not more.

I commonly see new XD's going for under $500 and new XDm's for $650+. $200 is not an exaggeration based on my experience, though I'm sure there are deals to be had out there on the XDm.

My XD cost 490, my XDm, when they first came out, cost $579. I think that comes to less than a $100 difference.

The places you go to are trying to rip people off due to the XDM being the newer model. The average diference in price should be around $100 and it's hard to deny a better barrel, higher capacity mag and a customizable grip isn't worth the extra $100.

Let see I purchased my XD45C for $475 new out the door. If you spent $679 on your XDm and I spent $475

$679
-$475
--------
$204

Humm?

I just gave $660 OTD for my 4.5" 9mm. I probably could have saved some money by shopping around/Gun broker shipped etc but I wanted it NOW and Didnt want to hassle with the shipping FFL fee etc. I can remember seeing them cheaper when they first came out, But I couldnt find them any cheaper within 60 miles Radius.
