FYI. XD users manual states that they are set up for 6 o'clock hold. Found that while checking on dry-firing. Springfield says either without ammo or with snap caps is OK for the XD.

Here's my XD 9mm sub compact. I love it. One photo is with the standard magazine and one with the extended magazine.

Question for you XD/XDM owners: Is it true it's fairly difficult to remove/install sights on the Springfields? I've heard twice now that it takes a gunsmith to remove or install after-market sights on these slides. Anyone have any experiences with this??

I am OK with the stockers myself.

I was going to upgrade the sights on my SAXD 45 but decide my guns stock sights have worked well even in low light. But to answer the question It can be done yourself but it's really really REALLY tight and it would be so much easier to have where you by them install them. If I change I will probably purchase the sights at BASS PRO in Springfield my understanding is they will install for free

Ive always said that they piggybacked off the Glock design. Not to offend SA fans, Im actually leaning towards getting a xdm 3.8 but still not 100% sold just yet
