Thinking about ordering a custom XDm 3.8C in .45, bi tone, slide lightening, trigger job, SS pin set and guide rod, titanuim striker indicator and chamber indicator, dawson fixed FO front and rear. Havent decided to do a grip or not. Its about $1100, what ya'll think? Worth it? It would be my range gun CC gun everything.

IMO i would get two new guns for that price (or a nice 1911). I've done little to my xdm and it has never let me down. In all I would say get what you really feel you NEED added. I do like the Dawson idea though.

What advantage is there to the Ti indicators? I haven't heard of that.

I guess if slide weight is a concern, that makes sense. Had never thought of that.

I agree its pricy, the SS pins and guide rod for strength and relibility, plastic bits :/ eh allthough yes! I know theyre good from the factory too but just in case id have two sets anyway. The trigger is $160, ive never felt it but it reduces the pull overtravel and reset i hear great reviews on those... The slide in stainless and the lightening are for me, its $100 for that and that IS a want ill admit but its cool for me and the sights are of course awsome ($80) and id be ok with one bad ass pistol over two or three that are "ok"

Thanks I already have a xdm 40 all black and I thought the stainless would be a nice addition to the family in the safe. Now to find a reasonable priced compact 1911 and I'll be happy with the hand guns I have for a while. Then it on to another AR and maybe an AKk or 2.

play the victim, be the victim
