XD40 SC with over 6K rounds down the pipe without a failure of any type. What changes would I recommend; reduce the price.

I have heard that dry firing is bad on a lot of guns but I head through Springfield that the xd handguns are designed to dry fire with no damage to the weapon but I still use snap caps just to be on the safe side.

About dry-firing... Id say do it till your hearts content... And then do it some more. The only thing about the xd is the striker hits the striker retainer pin (the small hole in the top of the slide). Eventually they wear out, something like 1 in 10,000 (don't quote me on that.) Snap caps are a good way to keep that from happening but those split pins or aftermarket roll pins aren't very expensive and pretty straight forward/ easy to replace.

This is the only other good one i have without digging the light out of my range bag. Its on my old xd40, obviously. Its a streamlight tlr-3 for right around a hundred bucks at bass pro for christmas. I heard that they have a tlr-3s coming out with the strobe feature. That will be my next add-on because if it weren't for the added size i would have a tlr-1s. I believe tac lights are only effective if they disorient also. IMO
