I thought they went directly to the manufacturer to place their order. He went on line right in front of me & told me the price I'd have to pay. Hell man, I could have done that. If that's all these dealers around here do Is go online to find a gun then all I really need them for is just to receive it.

When someone in another state wants a gun , do dealers go on line & buy it from another dealer. I'd rather just go to the original dealer selling these other dealers the guns
Then I must have misunderstood your post that said.

To me I read this as you asked him to buy you one and not just do the transfer.

OHH! Well then, maybe I did, but why would a dealer think that anyone would pay a commission fee for buying a gun from another dealer online?

In other words, why would I pay a fee to a dealer when I can just get the gun from another dealer. Isn't That's what the FFL fee is for? Aren't they, in fact, double dipping?

Not double dipping...just doing as you requested AND staying legal.

They could have informed you your (better) choice but chose not to.

Default XDm 40

After much research I've finally purchased my New XDm 40. The best price I could fine was online. $574 shipping included, $6 insurance, $20 to the local FFL dealer & $5 for the background check. Total $605. Only problem was it has scratches on the top, but I'm sending it back to the Springfield armory to fix. Now I realize I should have inspected it before signing the transfer. Would have saved me some trouble.

NICE! I bet you two will be very happy together.

Make sure to check the lil holster/loop thing for scratchy spots before using it; a buddy got some scratches on his XD9 that way.
