Glad to hear you got your pistol back. Sorry you had to deal with that whole mess though.

That's some ol' bullcrap.
How's it your fault because of the ammo? Hell if anything I'd be caling Winchester and telling them they owe me $55 for the repair.
I dont like using white box in my guns if I can help it, I prefer Blazer personally, that and I can hardly ever find WWB for cheaper where I live.

I had a very bad day saturday and wanted to share it with you guys and see what you thoughts were on it.
I was out shooting my 8 month old XD tactical 45, factory winchester 180 grain hollow points. Sent about 4 rounds down the range and that was the end of it. The right side of the gun under the slide blow off, cracked that handle all the way around, blew the clip out.
good thing is I was not hurt got a few scratches on hand but nothing bad.
I brought the gun back to the guy I purchased it from and he will be sending it to springfield today and he told me he never seen this happen before.

so what do you guys think springfield will do about this?
Sorry to hear of you XD problem -- I have shot several thousand rounds thru
my XD compact with no issues, My best friend has shot about 9 thousand or more
thru his XD 45, 9mm, and new XDM40 still with out a flaw. Damn glad you did not
get seriously injured - Please let us know what Springfield has to say. I too use mostly
factory ammo - Winchester - Federal, etc. but I have used a fair amount of reloads.

I guess we won't be getting a follow-up report as to how the repaired pistol functioned

Hopefully, that doesn't indicate a catastrophic failure.

I use WWB alot with no problems. In fact at the closest range I shoot at that is all you can use is winchester and has to be bought on site because it is OLIN's range. Not saying something can not happen but I would be more suspicious of a flaw in the weapon than factory ammo.

Two things.....

First--- Follow up?

Second--I've also have shot thousands of rounds of WWB and other than a very few non-fires, have never had a problem with it. Especially nothing catastrophic! Sure, it could happen, but if I worried about everything that could happen, I wouldn't get out of bed!
