FWIW I have an XD .45 Tactical w/out the thumb safety. I could be wrong, but
it was my understanding that Springfield could install one if it were sent back
to the factory---for a price.
I thought about it and carried for a while around the house (unloaded) in the factory supplied holster and put it thru the paces of drawing and re-holstering
and had no dry fires. I think the grip safety is adequate for carry and if it is dropped the chance of the grip safety being depressed is very remote.
I've since then concealed carried it loaded and took it to the range and had no
problems.
I've thought of selling it to thin out the herd, but haven't pursued it.
It's a good pistol but rather large for every day carry and if fully loaded it's a
little heavy.
Just sayin'.

@ crazycharlie2

Thanks

I call SA and ask - they said no that it can't be added later.

Thanks for the idea.
