What's the best .22 Conversion Kit for XD-45?
In response to my wistful complaint about 45ACP ammo prices, a guy at a local gun shop rattled off about 2 or 3 brands making .22 conversions for plastic guns, XD-45ACP assumed included. The idea of shooting a few hundred rounds with my XD for under $50 is appealing to me. Can anyone say which is the best conversion overall and which is the best for the money?

TBH, I've never even heard of a .22 conversion for any model/caliber XD. Sigs, Glocks, and 1911s yes though...

With the number of XDs in circulation, I'd think a .22 conversion being available would be front page news everywhere on the interwebz...

I second this....I wouldn't mind being able to convert my XD45 to 22 for plinking though.

I don't know too many 45 shooters that wouldn't like to be able to shoot 1000 rds for the cost of 100... I want one now....

On a different forum this was discussed by XD owners -
they wrote several times to Advantage Arms which said they are too
back logged with the Glock kit orders, I think they had a "demo" going but put it on back burner & won't be persueing the XD conversion kits.
That's the last I heard on subject & I have been hunting for many months.
I plan on putting in a product request to midway usa - maybe it they got
enough requests they would look into finding some one to maufacture these.
It would be my very next purchase if it was available.
Is this something a gunsmith could do for me?

You could buy a lot of .22 pistols for what this would cost...

Yeah and it is being considered. A good deal on a used .22 plinker.
This XD9 SC is my CC and I want to practice with it not a whole different
weapon.
I don't plan to own many guns - maybe one more in .40 or .45.
