Anyone know when they are coming out with an XDM in the 45 ACP. I checked the web page last night and they have 9MM and 40cal but not info on 45ACP. What gives. |

Many people I've spoken with, including you and me, are anxiously awaiting/hoping the XDm-45 is not far off, but no one seems to know any hard facts about when or whether it will happen. I may just go out there and get an XDm-9 just have at least that.... __________________ - Mossberg 500 12G Tactical: Adjustable stock + pistol grip

I have the XDm-9, and it is very sweet! Shoots really well, and the trigger is an improvement over the service models.
I also have the XD45 and the XD40sc; they are all great. |

So what is the big deal about the "M?" What kind of improvements or upgrades are there over the original XDs? I have an XD45....am I gonna have to look at trading it in? |

The barrel is SUPPOSED to be better ("match"), shorter reset on trigger, "improved grip stippling", simplified field stripping, no dry firing on the XDm. __________________ Sometimes you earthlings REALLY amaze me! |

While I haven't done so with mine, a Powder River trigger kit gives the basic XD a trigger as good as the XDM. I've shot a few with this kit installed and it's as close to a 1911 trigger as you can get in a poly gun... |

Hate to be the contrarian here but what exactly can the XDM 45 offer that's not already in the current XD 45? The XD 45 being the latest offering from SA in the XD frame already benefits from some of the capacity redesign advantages of the XDM. Original XD 9mm and 40S&W were 16 and 12 rnd capacity. XDM offers 19 and 16, XD 45 is 13. Is it feasible to stuff 15 rnds of 45 ACP in a mag, sure but who's going to want to hump it around all day. With 2 backup mags that's almost a full box of 45 ACP on your belt.
Since added capacity is the most attractive feature, in my opinion, in the XDM I just feel that the incremental capacity in the 45 would come at too high a price. It will never be good for CCW, will be heavy, accuracy of match barrel versus standard barrel is marginal for average shooter, trigger pull on field strip is inconvenient at most and how much simpler can it be to disassemble; there is one lever and 4 parts involved. __________________ "His nuts...they gone." - Karen "Bullseye" Smith

I've been waiting on the XDM45 since they introduced the XDM. When they finally get off their butts and make one I'll be one of the first in line to buy one. __________________ If the pain is lacking so is the discipline...
