Hello everyone,

I have been browsing this site for a while obtaining great information from every ones facts and opinions. I just purchased an xd in .40 with the 4" barrel and so far enjoy having it. I would like to mount a light and possible laser on the pistol, but am unsure of which one functions best for the cost. I have not done much investigating on different lights and thought I would see what you all have on your firearm. I think a light is a worthwhile investment on something I plan on having forever so I dont want to go to cheap, but also dont want to break the bank. Also, I know nothing about red dots, but is it realistic to have a laser on a handgun and make it accurate? If so, how many yards do these usually work for? Thanks for any replies... I hope that this is not to long of a post.

Default My opinion only,

To me, i think that lasers CAN be useful, but not to me. I like the light, nightsight combo because there is something to be said about blinding the crap out of the badguy at night and still having a bright aiming picture to add on to the top. With a laser im sure that you can tune it or "zero" it to a certain amount of yards that you would normally want the dot on POA. 10-15 yards maybe? I dunno but i know they sell a laser/light combo that would probably be a good choice. Is your gun for self defense/ home defense or is it a just go have fun gun?
All it takes for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing....

I like this set-up.

Congrats on the purchase, you won't regret it.
