No, but then I don't find the pull particularly long, either.

my xdm's are what i consider combat/self defense pistols. while i dont think the pull is long at all it is a little longer than a 1911 but not overly much. the weight is perfect for self defense/combat use.

Bullseye,

The pull is the same distance on my 45 XD. But I did have Springfield do their trigger job on the trigger when I got it new and it is fantastic.

Definitely longer than my 1911's, yep.

But again, like JonM says, they are duty pistols first and foremost. Quite good for "rack grade" triggers, IMHO.

I shoot my Xd 45 service at the range and couldn't stand the longe trigger pull. I have grown up with 1911's and a bunch of 22 semi automatic pistols. I did a lot of searching for trigger jobs on the internet. I finally ordered the Powder River Precision match trigger group. After installing it I lost almost 1/2 inch of the takeup and the reset was much better too. I did thee all of the work myyself. The only thing that took the most time was finding a safe file that had flat edges. Once I found one, it was mainly disassembly and reassembly to check fit then disassembly to make one or two passes on the disconnector edge. Once everything worked and fit correctly, I went to the range to try it out. Two of my friend tried it as well and loved the clean break and short reset. My groups shrank by more than half.
