It is ok!! Just like a Glock they are what they are.
I don't care for glocks. I have shot them and did pretty decent. I think they are very reliable, but I just don't care for them.
If Smiths are your thing, stick to them!

Just buy another 1911. You (or anyone else for that matter) shouldn't have to be convinced to buy any particular gun. If yer hands are saying " not sure we're likin' this..." then listen to 'em.

I'm in the same boat. I really want to like the XD, but just don't. However, I'm much more inclined to the XDM series.

I had the same problem with Glock #27. For me, the XD is a perfect fit. You should by all means, go with the one that fits. M&P is an excellent pistol (too).

I am going to rent one next range visit and shoot one.
I have held one and tried some dry firing, it didn't feel as good as the M&P.
I just find them to be on the ugly side.

Convince me, why I need to look deeper and be a convert to the XD craze.
Let's see what you all have. Sort of like a beauty contest. Convert me.
If you NEED convincing to "like" any platform, I would suggest that it isn't the platform for you. Find one you like without convincing and go that route.

Default XD Tactical Bi- Tone 45acp

I'm a 1911 guy all the way, but tried to warm up to the Polly Glock when they first came out but was never swade enough to make the leap until the XD came out it felt close to the feel of the 1911 with a high round count with out the 2x4 feeling grip like the Glocks, I have an XD bi-tone tactical 45 acp which I've modified with a springer trigger kit at 4lb pull, extended mag release and stainless guide rod, Polly mag well and decal grips.

If I had to chose two pistols from all they would be my XD and my 1911

Tried an XD 40 subcompact over this past weekend. Soft shooting, accurate, slime grip shape. What's not to like? It's a matter of personal preference, I guess.
