DefaultHave any of you had to adjust your XD sights?

My XD40 is a great shooter, pretty easy on the recoil and consistent where it puts the rounds, but they are about 2" to the left of the center dot (I use a paper plate with stick on orange dot). I can put them on the dot, but have to move my aim about 2" (from 13 yds), freestanding.

I tried taping the rear sight with a brass punch and hammer, but it doesn't move. I have adjusted Glocks, S&Ws and others like this, but this dovetail is really tight. Got any suggestions? Thanks.

No. The sights on all my XD's are dead on the money.

First, I mean no offense, just tryin’ to help.
Is this a new gun?
Has this just started or has it always been shooting left?
I'd guess you're strong side is right, not left?
Have you had another shooter try the gun to verify its shooting left?
DO NOT tap on the sights to adjust them. There are tools to do that.

A hammer and punch may work to adjust the sights for a hand grenade but not a handgun.
You must first determine if the problem is PEBTAH or hardware.
Good luck.

My XD .45 Compact was dead on right out of the box. I'm not much help on adjusting the sights though.

Usually my first couple shots at the range are low and left a couple inches but after I adjust the idiot pulling the trigger (me) my shots are on the money the rest of the day.

How familiar are you with your XD? I know that I was shooting low and to the left the first couple of times I went to the range. UNTIL I got used to the trigger pull. It was a bit longer then on my Sig. Once i was used to it, NO more problems.
