Guide rod laser?

Can anyone give me input on installing a guide rod laser to my XDS? I'm not looking for instructions, only experience using this laser, good, bad idea?

I have a guide rod laser, cool idea ! Mine is in a glock 26 . I would love this thing except there is no holster that won't activate the on off switch, so my opinion is that its a waste of $300
I do have a crimson trace laser guard and a laser grip for xd and xdm and viridian x5L . Check around they are making many holsters now that accomadate these lasers

My Blackhawk holster doesn't activate the laser.

Thanks for all of your in-put. Think I'll stick with Crimson Trace!

You have three responses, and you get all giggled like a girl at her first dance.

I think you should do a bit more research into the gear you spend money on than that IMHO.

I have a internal laser on my 20 year old Glock 20. I love mine. The holster I use turns the laser off, but does not turn it on, which is how I would want it. Perfect.

I am sure newer lasers are more powerful in their current offerings, and if you can stand reading a forth review, I think anyone thinking about a laser in their sidearm should look into a guide rod laser if their goal is a gun that has a discrete laser that does not show on your weapon unless you need it.

Thanks pro golfer will look for that blackhawk, that is probably owb. Do you have any suggestion for iwb ?
( don't mean to hijack this topic )
As I do like the guide rod laser

FLASHBANG 03-19-2013 02:42 PM

Ar10, care to tell us what holster your referring to? Also would you know of a iwb that would work for the guide rod laser?
I do like the concept just don't like changing batteries, easy to work laser with no adjustments
Thanks
