Cleaning solvent

I just got my XDM 9mm two days ago and before I shoot it I was wondering if it was ok to get hoppe cleaing fluid on the grip part.I use a bore snakes on all my guns. You got to love those bore snake.

I have been cleaning my XD with hoppes for years. I even use contact cleaner as long as it's safe for plastics and doesn't contain chlorine. I wouldn't soak the frame in either over night or anything but if you put a few drops on a brush and clean the mag well or something and then wipe it down, you'll be fine. Hoppes will not damage polymer.

Bore snake

Why yes I do, I run it through first and it get all the heavy stuff out so I do not use so many patches and it is less mess.And thank you for the information canebrake
