They make a laser that is a guide bar that is turned on/off with a switch that is on a take down that replaces the factory one an still use a regular holster. Forgot who makes them an they run over 300$ don't know if they are the best but the whole set up looks cool.
It's called lasermax....personally I love the guide rod laser concept....extremely low profile, BUT I don't like the fact that there is an on/off switch....I'd like to see the lasermax come out with a pressure on/off button that somehow mounts to the grip so when you are aiming and gripping your xd/m it automatically turns on without any extra effort....otherwise I'd think the crimson trace laser is the cats a$$....IMHO
