I heard the all black is more prone to rust...is that true?

My sister has a bi-tone XDM40 and it had some rust on the slide after a long period of storage. This would make me think that the slide is made of 400 series stainless, which is also magnetic. 300 series stainless is more corrosion resistant than 400 series, but it is also softer.

That said, I like the look of the all black better myself.

it started rusting once when i left it in my holster for a couple months in my closet. since then i check it every couple of days. especially since its my HD weapon now. i just give it a quick wipe and re holster it. since that one time ive had no problems. but ive stayed on top of it. but i do reallly enjoy that pistol glad i own it

I think that's just your own personal preference.

I have an all-black XDm45. My next XDm will be 9mm or 40sw in OD/SS. Love the look:
