Does anyone have any information on the 460 conversion for the xd? Been looking for a semi auto with more punch and I already own an xd in 45 acp

its a good round basically a slightly lighter 44mag level performer. got the kit for my springfield 1911A1. you do need to load for it as factory ammo is pretty pricey. no special dies are needed as regular 45acp reloading dies work fine.

How about recoil, I've read its pretty manageable but you seemed to have shot one. So you would have a better idea

its between a 357magnum and 44magnum in recoil. its got a LOT of rotational torque. the gun wants to twist in your hand but its manageable.

its more recoil than i would want to deal with in a self defense role. hunting it would work great. its just got too much recoil make it very very slow on follow ups for use as ccw gun.

im not recoil shy and shoot my heavy hitters really well. ive owned a 458 winmag since i was 18.

460 rowland is a great back up for hogging or hunting in bear/wolf country or as a range toy. thats about it

im thinking about selling my springfield 1911a1 with its rowland kit and buying the xd/m 460 conversion.
