Wait for the 9mm, its the one you really want. If you settle you will end up regretting it. I speak from experience. Good luck.

Why not go to a shooting range store and see if they will let you shoot both. If a possible sale is the result, many will overlook the rental fees.

Same here, no more 40

We do that at our shop. If somebody is more than just window shopping. I like to do that to people that come in determined to buy a glock (not trying to start a glock vs...fight) But when i take them in the back, they shoot the glock9, and the SR9, Better ergonomics, better sights, better warranty, better customer service, made in USA, mag safety. 8 times out 10, they will purchase the SR. So yea...if they think you are a buyer..you can shoot the place up...

Look here:
http://www.genitron.com/Search-Handguns/
You compare pistols, and they list the recoil that each produces. One look and you may spend hours there....

I've shot the Glock 22 and the Glock 19 back to back. Even though the 19 is a little smaller, it was noticeably easier to control and make quick follow up shots. The 40 has a little more kick but it's not a deal breaker, IMO.

Here is something most overlook on this common subject:

Perhaps the recoil of a 115gr (range round) 9mm is slightly less than a .40 155-180gr.

HOWEVER- You will not be carrying 115gr ammo will you? No you will have 124 +P or equivalent.
Guess what? 9mm +P in every case is the same or more recoil than a .40. You should practice with what you carry and no caliber transfers over to real world recoil and ballistics like .40. When was the last time you saw someone do 200-300 rounds of +P hollow points through their 45 or 9 at the range? Didn't think so....
