I bought it because it was only $8 because if it does have 1600 or 1000 lumens (Cree's website says that the LED has 1000) then I got an amazing deal, but if it doesn't (and I'm 99% sure it doesn't) then I'm only out $8 and it still has a strobe light, which I think is pretty cool.
just remember you get what you pay for. i have several inexpensive flashlights that i keep around for various uses. they serve a purpose as in if they get lost or broken it's no huge loss. but i also spend a bit more for much higher quality lights that will perform under any adverse conditions and can take a tank rolling over them and still work.
none of my flashlights are really considered tactical. mine serve a purpose and do it quite well.
again, what is the definition of a tactical flashlight?
