All mine use AAA, AA, CR123A, and the new one I ordered uses some weird battery but it also uses 3 AAA's. The most specialized battery my flashlights use is CR123A and that isn't too hard to find, just a bit expensive.

i prefer those that use AA or AAA batteries since those can be found anywhere. the local corner store will have these when they may or may not have the CR123A batteries. plus they are usually much cheaper and can be bought in bulk packs where the CR123A batteries usually only come one or two to a package.

both of my Streamlights use the same type charger and battery packs. that's what help me make the decision to spend $185 for the LDE Stinger. i now have multiiple chargers that work off AC power and DC power an several battery packs for them. i can charge them in the house or the vehicle.

I was at Best Buy recently and they only had CR123A in packs of 2 and it was around $20 for each pack. I may end up buying them in bulk on amazon.

good luck with that. i can stop at the corner store, the Dollar store or WalMart and pick up AA and AAA batteries anytime i need them and don't have to order them. if i am at work i can walk across the street to the store and get batteries for my flashlights if i need them. i also have two rechargeable lights in my toolbox at work along with those in my truck.

I wish I could use cheaper batteries but I have to use CR123A's because my EDC, Maglite MAG TAC, uses them and I love that flashlight.

That is a good question, I don't need to carry one what so ever, but I do just in case I need to use it.
