Slings?
How many of you use a sling while shooting? (The sling for accuracy, not carrying)
|
I recently bought a para chord sling off a member on another forum (he makes them, any configuration you want). I have it installed on my AR15 and have gotten great use out of it while target shooting. It's not that I had a slack grip but having the sling really locks it down and makes recoil and follow up shots that much easier.

I use slings on every rifle I shoot. I have a guy on the seacoast here that makes what ever I want. Awesome stuff.

I have two Andy's Leather slings and they are of excellent quality. I also have a couple of Butler Creek quick adjust slings and they are excellent as well.

Unless shooting benchrest, you betcha.

a sling is a must on a rifle. my preference are the black nylon m16a1 and a2 slings they work very well and are easy to install and adjust quickly. i like the old ww2/korea era green canvas slings too.

Even from a shooting bench, unless the gun is in a Lead Sled or similar, I ALWAYS use a sling. A well adjusted sling (I like them just a touch overly tight) will just about allow you to hold a rifle with just your off hand and someone else could pull the trigger for you. <don't try this with something with a lot of recoil!>

Seriously? People always look at me like I'm crazy when I bring a sling shooting. I guess this is why I like this forum so much.

Why be normal?
Do what you like as long as it isn't illegal or hurts someone. ;) |
