I just bought a 10/22 with synthetic stock. Is there a special sling stud to use for the butt end or just use the ones for wood? I have other syn stock guns but they have the studs already in there so I don't really know how it's done. Thank you very much.

The standard "wood screw" sling swivel will pull out of a synthetic stock, usually at a really bad moment. Use the type that has a threaded insert that can be epoxied in place.
