If you are talking about the standard saw blade they would be too thin. They are about 1/16th of an inch thick. If that! When you cut a piece of lumber with them it only takes out 1/8th of an inch of the lumber, and that is due to the Kerf of the blades.

Quality AR500 steel targets don't cost too much. It's better to use a steel designed for shooting, than to take a chance on shooting a piece of steel that will not stop a bullet.
I have several 1/2" steel targets from these guy's-

i seriously doubt a saw blade is going to stop most pistol or any rifle calibers. rimfires would be my guess at all they might stop and even then, you might have to worry about a ricochet back at you.

saw blades were made for cutting, not for shooting at. if you are wanting something steel to shoot at get something made for it. and most have distances they recommend as the minimum safe distances in case of a ricochet.

Yes I have shot old saw blades and of course they're too thin 357 will blow right through .
anything below probably just dents them.
But if you have old ones just shoot them I guess that's what I did was good entertainment for a little while lol
