I don't know if good and cheap is an option. Stack-on makes inexpensive safes.

A cheap safe is better than no safe at all.
Buy the best you can comfortably afford.
Get the biggest ya can afford.
My safe is not the best, or even close to it.But it will definitely deter your average snatch and grab thieves.

If you have a few cheap guns, buy a cheap safe. But, dont put $5,000 worth of guns in a $200 safe. I used to have a stack on. Back then I just wanted to keep the kids safe. I now have an $800 safe from Cabelas. I realise that if I had to replace any one of my guns because of theft it would have paid for my safe.

We just picked up a 12gun Sentry safe from Lowe's for $397.00. We also have two big dogs so it makes me feel better if we go on walks and no one is there at all, now they are locked up tight. It weighs 245lbs + 3000 rounds of ammo.

Correction...it is Liberty safe, not Sentry.

Personally, I think that gun ownership carries the responsibily to make sure that your firearms never get into the hands of young kids or, worse yet, bad guys. Do the very best you can to purchase the strongest safe you can find. Even if it means that you must say "no" to other purchases for awhile.

Just my opinion,

BTW, I have a Libery safe
