Over on the 458socomforum a member makes slings out of para cord. I hadn't gotten around to getting a sling for my AR's and I really don't have any retail stores close enough with a selection to check some out. So I ponied up a few bucks and bought one and it came in the mail today.
I have to say it is well worth the money. The cord weaving is tight and the hardware is very stout. I installed it on my AR15 and the fit was excellent. Here's a few pics of the new sling,
