Nikon 223 Scope?
Anyone use the Nikon 223 Scope? How do you like it? Does it keep 0 well? Comments on it?

I got the 3x32mm scope and I love it. I used the P-series mount and the cheek weld and eye relief is perfect. With good ammo I'm shooting 2in high at 100yds, about a 3/4" group. They are well worth the money.
This is my work horse rifle so it gets tossed about and banged around a little, scope is still sighted in. Attachment 83916 Attachment 83917 |
I have the 4-16 and agree with the previous poster. It's very stable, optics are very good (especially for the price), and, so far, has survived my abuse for quite some time.
I also have the m308 and the P22 scopes. The advantage (for me) is that I have the "Spot On" app on my iPhone that calculates all the ballistics. The same app works for all three (all Nikon, I think) scopes. |
Wonderful. I think my mind is made up then.. You just never know how something will work and it is great to get opinions of people that have used the item..

ive got the 308 version with bdc reticle on my scar17. seems to work great. the real neat thing is nikon has a thing called spot on that lets you easily use your bdc reticle at any range in any magnification.
ive got their android spot on app as well. it seems to work as advertised. ive got a couple other nikon scopes that hold zero really well i dont think im going to have issues with this one. tthe only drawback to nikon products is the total lack of warranty support after about a year of ownership. |

Is there a spot to input hand load data into it and have the app give you the hold overs for such? |

You can buy the app or use it for free on nikons website. |
I've owned two Nikon scopes. I was not a fan of the BDC reticle. I much prefer Mil-Dot reticles. Is this going on an AR15? Look at the Redfield Battlezone. It is a Mil-dot scope around $200. That is my next purchase. I have sold my Nikon scopes.

I'm not sure if this question was directed towards me or someone else, but I don't own an AR at all. I was thinking of grabbing a different model for a non 223/5.56 bolt action. I was just looking for someone who was or has used the app and figured I'd ask here instead of started a thread for one question.....like a lot of people seem to be doing lately. |
here is the start page for nikon's spoton http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/Nikon-Products/Hunting-SpotOn/index.page
you can check out the program and use it before you decide if thats a selling point for you. |
