Default Night Vision Flahlights???

The other day I talked to a guy who had some-sort of night vision flashlight. It was like a mounted flashlight but green, and he said it would illuminate a taret up to 300yards and could be adjusted to only light up so much, and didn't effect game (They couldn't see it) Now I know the most all game can't see red light, but I don't know about this. And if these are a good and viable alternative to buying a $4000 night scope, I'd like to be pointed in the direction of one please.

I've heard of it, its more like a tight beam green light (don't know if I would call it "night vision" per se). I think they make a version that mounts directly on top of the scope that you can set to illuminate your aiming point (coaxially mounted so to speak) No idea where to get them though, and have never seen one in person, but hear they work pretty well.

Yeah that sounds just like what he had. I found a couple of them now, I believe they are called "Green laser light designators"

It's a Laser Genetics ND-3,I have one,and they work great for varmint/hog hunting at night.
The ND-3 is the smallest one,it's about the size of a AA MiniMag lite.It comes with a couple types of mounts and also a pressure switch adapter.

The usable range on a ND-3 is really around 150 yards. But they also make 2 larger models ND-4 and ND-5,that should have a farther range, but I see no need in trying to shoot animals long range in the dark.
