Default Front sights?

I am sorry if this has been covered in another thread. I looked and could not find anything. My question is: Do fiber optic front sights really help with faster target acquisition? I tend to take a few seconds to line my sights up but my damn OCD makes me re-confirm and I am hoping that a change in my front sight might speed things up! Any ideas?

I especially like fiber optic beads/sights on my shotguns.

I also find that fiber optic sights on my handguns help my fifty year old eyes when compared to white dot or no-dot sights. I can at least find the fiber optic sights without my glasses.

I just checked out the Sure sight web page. Interesting concept. Any one have any experience with these? Of course the information on a page trying to sell a product is only going to emphasize the pros.

My personal favorite is the fiber optic tritium combination sights. You may want to explore opticsplanet.com for options and prices.

I really like fiber optic sights(I'm an old guy) it helps me see them. Keep in mind they only work when it is fairly bright. I can not see much advantage having them on a carry gun (other than for on the range). Most bad guys come out at night.

I have checked out a few including HiVis? I like the idea plus the tritium will help with anything or anyone who comes out at night. Sure sight seemed nice only due to a larger viewing area when aiming down the sites. But from anywhere between $100-160 it had better kick ass!

The Steyer M9 and M40 pistols have a triangular sight not quite the same but very effective and is one of the best if not the best I have used.
