Default DPMS LR 308 Help !!!!

I want to upgrade the forearm to to rifle length ( past the gas block ) , I have found several product that say they will fit. Where will the gas tube connect to when I remove the block to make room for the new extended forearm ?

The optic is very cheap and will be removed once I start the rebuild. I will be adding a 4 x 14 scope , not sure which one though. Any recommendations ?
