I am wondering if I should get a dot sight (eotech) or a scope. I can hit about anything out to 200 yards with iron sights. I was thinking about an accucam and a 6x scope for times when I need a little distance, say 400 yards or so.
I am shooting an 11.5 using 62gr 5,56 (yes it is class III)
any thoughts? I can pop a scope on quickly with the gg&g accucam...

I don't think you are going to notice much of an improvement with the dot-sight over the irons.
You might want to conside a low powered variable, like a 1x-4x or a 1.5x-6x

I like my eotechs a bunch but i would not consider them a long range optic. I feel the eothec and aimpoint are best when used under 100yds. Sure you can use them to reach out further but for 200yds plus, i'd want an optic with magnification. That's just me, my eyes aren't what they used to be.
