Computer program for listing firearms

Is there any programs out there to list firearms, prices paid, date bought etc? What is the best one? Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you have a database program on your computer? MS Works? MS Office? OpenOffice? You can set one up easily if you have any of those programs.

I do have works and will give it a shot. It will take a little learning for me to figure this out. Thanks

Set it up in Excel (spreadsheet) and just add columns if you need/want more data points.

Name it "basket weaving" or something else innocuous as to not draw attention of goub'mint interwebz spiders.

Don't make a copy, electronic or hard-copy.

Encrypt the file and never leave it open.

I keep mine on a thumb drive.

What Cane said. Simple Excel spreadsheet. MS Works has a "lite" version of Excel that would work.

I've been more involved in data bases, that's why I suggested.

OpenOffice is a suite that is available on-line (free).

The main idea is to set the column names with what you think each row should contain:

Manf..........model..........serial.........price. .........date purchased
Colt ..........M1911a1......782xxx.......(cheap)......0 1/01/2010

Good luck

(it did not keep the spaces I put in)

I created an Excel spreadsheet years ago, and it's worked very well for me. I too keep it on a thumb drive, and encrypted.

Here's a sample file with some basic info. MY wife is better at Excel than I am, but I'll try to answer questions if there are any....
