Default Bipod

Hi people. I recently bought my first rifle for vermin contol. Im using a 10 22 mainly for shooting rabbits and pidgeons. I'm trying to decide what bipod I should buy.

Is it totally nessesary that I buy a harris? I can appreciate buying a quality item now may well save me money in the future but surely there are alternatives for less than £100 of similar build quality which also offer the swivel and tilt features?

My ruger has the walnut stock with a swivel stud.

Harris makes a very nice bipod and is worth the money. I have one on my Mini30. There are lower priced alternatives but quality is not going to be the same. UTG has some that are probably made in China but they do work. I dont know if you have Amazon but it is a good source for information and will show several different brands. Amazon.com: rifle bipod

Wally World sells a Winchester bi-pod for about $40.00. It works well for me in bench rest .22 shooting.

I bought one of these for my .223 and it needed a little paint as it was just a tad too shiny for coyote hunting , I dont need anything shiney to give me away

Thanks for the feedback guys. Im leaning towards a harris, mostly because iv come into a little money and because do intend to shoot for the rest of my days. Im looking at around £93 as the cheapest online if anyone knows of any cheaper in the uk please let me know.
