I will be using a borrowed 1929 springfield 30-06 for elk season this year. The gun functions perfectly except for one critical area, the safety which is located directly under the rear of the scope with not enough clearance to swing from safe to fire. What solutions are recommended besides raising the scope,(it would have to go up at least 3/8"). I have heard of various mechanical divises that are located behind the trigger that would work in the field. More or less a temporary solution to a borrowed problem. Thanks for any advice!
