Your thoughts on this very nice problem?
 

I'm in a bit of a "conundrum" as I asked Bob over at Fusion for a quote on a custom CCO built just the way I wanted it, but then, low and behold, a 2009 Dan Wesson CBOB appears on the shelf of my local gun store. I've been wanting to buy a 2009 and then send my 2007 CBOB off for some heavy customization. I'm not relying on you guys to make my mind up for me, but I would be interested in what you would do and why. Maybe someone will hit an angle that I haven't thought of. As it stands now, I'm thinking of ordering the Fusion CCO and then getting a different 2009 CBOB in a month or so while I'm waiting on the build to be done (4-5 months). Thoughts?

Sarge, If I had your money; I'd buy the New Dan Wesson CBOB, send my '07 off for the much desired customization and have fun breaking in the new piece while the custom work is being done. Post when you get back home with the new gun. I want pics and a range report by Friday!! :D

Every time I would lean that way, I'd start thinking, "I've already got a CBOB and have been wanting a CCO for a while now....." and end up going back to ordering the CCO.

It may help to hear what mods I would do to the '07 CBOB:
IonDLC finish
Flatten the slide top and add serrations
Go orange rear and green front tritiums to match my other carry weapons
STI style carbon trigger
Crown the barrel
Custom engraving of COTEP with a little scroll on the slide (just for fun and uniqueness)
I think that was it on my list of mods.......

Well, I pulled the trigger on the CCO with Bob this morning. My list of custom touches was too long for him to remember, so I emailed it to him and he quoted it. Now the long but worth it wait begins......:o
Here's the short list of what's being built:
CCO with alloy frame
Barrel and everything except the small controls and MSH are IonDLC bond finish
Tritiums orange in back, green up front to match my other carry weapons
Checkered frontstrap and MSH
Carry comm hammer
Stainless small controls including ambi safeties will be bead blasted
Flush and crowned barrel
Flat top slide with serrations
STI type carbon trigger
Along with the trigger job, carry rounding etc that comes on all Fusions, I think that's it.
It's gonna be cool. :cool:

I don't know. It'll probably end up with some walnut slabs cut with a chain saw on it. :rolleyes::D

That might be a little rough on the hands. But they could start like this!!
