Default WWII Colt M1911A1 Parkerized, Checkered Slide Stop Wanted

Hi Guy's & Gal's from Sunny New Zealand.

I am a Licenced Collector and have just had the pleasure of purchasing a 1942 Colt M1911A. Unfortunately it has a blued (shiny) slide stop. Still not sure if it is an early M1911 or M1911A1 version, but it definitely isn't the right slide stop for this pistol.

I have trawled the internet, with no joy, so have decided to try this forum, as I am hopefull someone will have a spare part floating around somewhere.

I have attached a picture of what I am looking for.

Cheers & happy collecting to all.

Nigel

Have you checked Ebay? They're a good place for random miscellaneous parts.

Yep, have definitely done the e-bay thing. Plenty of slide stops, but none like the one I want/need.

Cheers, Nigel

G'day, Nigel, and welcome to the forum. Glad you found your way to us.

Unfortunately, we run into a problem with export laws when we try to send gun parts or accesories outside the US. Seems everyone is worried about us evil Yanks arming the world and leading you astray from the pure and simple life.

Since you DO have a slide stop, a possible route would be to have IT Parkerized. Among other companies, there are these folks that MAY be able to recieve a part from you for refinishing, and return it to you-
The Shooter’s Roost, Inc. est. 2002

You can also try contacting via their website Numrich- at gunpartscorp.com While they do not SHOW have parkerized sldie stops in stock, they frequently have the odd part here and there that is not listed.
