My concern is that the modifications are done correctly. Does your friend own a Dremel?

Based on what I see in the pic, this gun has been tinkered with (spare parts a dead giveaway). Might be fine - I'd really check this one before buying myself...

Yeah, me too.... I couldn't quit laughing when I saw that "Dremel". Good point though.
I'd give 300 for it even if it ended up being parts.

he is actually a gun smith, he works at an ammo and gun store and he does most of the modding on any custom job brought it, i have seen some work he does and its pretty nice, the guys work is reputable around here, i just dont really know what i would be getting for the investment, you guys know i am pretty new to all this stuff, that is why i am asking.... i would hate to make another stupid purchase that just wasnt worth it

Go here: Firestorm and American Classic II Government Deluxe Model 1911 .45 ACP Auto Pistol
Read this revue, it seems to agree it functions well and may be worth the small investment. As Mark said, I would give $300 just for the parts and based on that revue. I suppose if you have seen this gunsmith's work and trust him and his reputation, it may be worth the risk.
I do not own one, so this is the best opinion I can offer, and thanks to Dave for making me laugh.
