On my local GA forum a fella asked what's so special about a 1911. He said it's old, only carries 7 rounds, and it's heavy - so it's not as "good" as his XD.
I read thru the responses, and this was the best one I saw so I thought I'd share. No, it's not JHP rounds in the pic - but it's a good one (and a Colt!)...
This was another I really liked:

I like the pics, thanks for sharing. Did you ask him if he had ever shot a 1911? __________________ If the pain is lacking so is the discipline...

A bunch of folks did and the answer was no. For a noob, it does seem like the 1911 is a relic of the past - big, heavy, low capacity - then you shoot one and the lightbulb goes on... |

I'm still waiting for someone to make a polymer pistol with a 1911 style trigger. Come on now!! |

Kimber did but it was a double stack and they're no longer making it. __________________ If the pain is lacking so is the discipline...

I don't even want to know why as JMB would release the lightning bolts to fry the blasphemers... |

I have to be honest, I wasn't really interested in one until after I got into pistol shooting. Then curiousity got the best of me and now there is a Kimber living in my house. __________________ If the pain is lacking so is the discipline...

Totally true. __________________ "It is not the critic who counts, nor the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. Let the plastic gun bashing begin. BLAAAAAAAAAAAA
I love 1911's don't get me wrong but I also love my XDm and Glock and have had nothing go wrong with either of them. I bought them because it was my god given right, not because my gov't said I had to.
So everyone hush now Last edited by iloveguns; 12-18-2009 at 03:25 PM. |
