How about as low as 586? What do y'all reckon would be the value on an original Colt, in as close to new condition as possible with a serial like that? I've been guessing around 5k. Property of US Navy stamped.

With S/N NO. 586, it would have been built in 1912 early during the 1st production run of 500 for the USN. (S/Ns 501-1000)

I think you could double that guesstimate to 10K$, even more if there is any providence.

Wasn't the first production run 1-500? That's what it looked like in the Colt site. I thought it said both of the first two runs were navy, with the third and fourth being army and marine respectively...
