What To Get For My First 1911
I'm looking to by myself my first 1911 for Christmas but I have no idea what I should get!! Help me please!! I have looked over the numerous "first 1911" posts on here but no one seems to be looking for the same thing I am so it's no help. I am looking for a Full Size or Commander size 1911, and I would prefer Stainless Steel. I had my sights set on a S&W 1911 E-Series in Stainless but I soon found out they are not legal in Commiefornia. So I definitely need the help from you guys. My price range is $800-$1500. I'd like some extra money left over for a couple Tripp mags and some decent ammo but I'm not willing to sacrifice gun quality for it. HELP ME! Thank you!

The other pistol I was looking at was the Kimber Raptor II in Stainless. Hopefully that gives you guys an idea of my tastes.

Look into Springfield armory. Their RO model is a great gun in the $800-900 range IIRC.

Get the best you can afford.
Check out the sticky's that have been posted.
Good sights, trigger, Customer Service support, and some good mags.

With a price ceiling like yours, you owe Dan Wesson a look. Semi-Custom quality in an "Off the Rack" pistol.

Springfield or Colt if you choose to not go DW.

The RO is parkerized and not stainless like you're looking for. You might also consider their Loaded model.
I'd also highly advise you to take a look at all the different 1911s offered by Sig Saur.
