DefaultWhat is it with everybody and their Glocks?

Some idiot on YouTube keeps private messaging me about how his Glock is all that and a bag of potato chips after I tried to tell him that no Glock is comparable to a Colt 1911 other than that it can hold more ammunition.

So what is everybody else's opinion on this "Colt 1911 v. Glock" thing? I know some will hate me for asking this.

There is no comparison. Just ask him why, in about 20 years, Glock is on their THIRD evolution? Then tell him to come talk to you when Glock puts out their 100th Anniversary Edition.

End of Argument.

I guess you can opt to throw both of them at him and see which one is more durable.

Every gun has it's "fanboys" and many, many folks feel the need to justify their purchases. Glocks are fine handguns for the masses; however, they do nothing at all for me...

Go to the youtube user's channel page, and click the "block user" button. Your problem is solved.

If you are answering his messages, you are just continuing the argument, therefore you should not be complaining.

Asking in the 1911 section is like asking an American which is better The US or Europe.

The reason that people continued to create new handguns after the 1911 was produced is that there is no single gun that is the best solution for every situation/scenario.

I can feel the bombs being lobbed at me already, but I will offer my opinion, from some one who owns both.

I have been shooting 1911's for most of my life. Currently still own one. I also own 3 Glocks all in 40S&W (22,23 and 27). Comparing Glocks to a 1911 is comparing night and day. Each are different. There is nothing like the feel of a steel framed 45 ACP 1911 in your hand. They shoot and point true and are way more accurate than most people behind the trigger.

But my wife will not touch the 1911 period, she is afraid of it. But she will stand with me at the range, with confidence and fire 200 rounds with her G-23. It took me several months to get her comfortable with the 23. And now when I am not home, I am more comfortable she can protect herself with her 23 if the need arose.

Anyone who argues about one gun being better than the other is entering into an un-winable argument. I love 1911's and will always have them. But I do love my Glocks.

Please no napalm
