Hi I need help to ID this Colt not sure what it is, I paid $750.00 was it worth it? Ser#28900x

If I read the chart correctly, your gun was made in 1913 and was one of 19,150 made that year by Colt.

What I think we have here is a troll. With a name like "nutsfor1911" I would tend to believe he knows what he has and the value for that condition, 3G's for pristine. That number would put it around early 1918. :)

The picture clearly shows SN 28900x as he claims and as Flintrock suggests, that puts the manufacture date between 1915 and 1918 and it is a Colt SN. What's the problem?

It is an original 1911 not a 1911a1 but with the blue replacement parts on a parkerized pistol, its a parts gun right now...blued replacement parts make it other than original pistol.
